City Hall warns about a parking ticket email scam
City Hall is warning of a phishing scam that attempts to trick readers into thinking an email is from the Department of Finance.
Officials say scammers are sending fake emails that look like parking ticket payment confirmations but are actually aimed at getting personal information or contain malware.
If you get one of these emails, you’re urged to not click on any links or attachments.
To check on the status of a parking violation, go to nyc.gov/nycserv.
