Big news in the wacky world of NYC parking tickets
A parking ticket warrior was arrested Monday night in Brooklyn for allegedly obstructing governmental administration when she tried to prevent the gendarmes from towing her 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Olatakumbo Erinosho, 39, owed more than $450 in unpaid NYC parking tickets.
The NY Times reports:
“City marshals went to Greene Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant before dawn on Monday to tow Ms. Erinosho’s 2007 Cadillac Escalade, the police said. But she “interfered with and resisted their lawful efforts to seize her personal vehicle” and “subsequently resisted efforts by police who were summoned by marshals to arrest her,” Paul J. Browne, the chief Police Department spokesman, said in a statement.”
I’m wondering how many times Ms. Erinosho called in the “hook” as a punishment for a parking crime in her eight years as a NYC parking ticket warrior. More to the point, I’m wondering how many times she authorized a tow that was not appropriate. Or, how many times she issued an illegal parking ticket, which resulted in a vehicle tow.
If the answer is never, than I feel badly for Ms. Erinosho’s plight as a scofflaw in these terrible economic times…Up until the moment she allegedly behaved badly against marshall agents and the real police.
There is a law on the books making it a felony to assault a parking ticket warrior while executing her duties. However, when this rogue warrior was poked by the system she enforces, she bit the hand that feeds her.
What do you think? I’d love to hear your reactions. Please share your opinions.

“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander” definition
What is good for a man is equally good for a woman; or, what a man can have or do, so can a woman have or do. This comes from an earlier proverb, “What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.”
(I didn’t know that!! Did you?)
