Quality of life-changing parking laws
There are three absolutely wonderful bills pending before the Transportation Committee of the NYC Council that, if passed, will favorably impact the lives of the NYC driving public. The bills were introduced during the December 5, 2012 meeting:
introduction number | Subject matter | Status | Title | Action |
0527-2011 | Requiring that the DOT shall give certain notice of the permanent street sign changes that will affect parking | Pending in the Transportation Committee | A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring that the DOT shall give certain notice of permanent street sign changes that will affect parking | Hearing Held. |
0762-2012 | Permissible standing near schools and child day care centers. | Pending in the Transportation Committee | A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to permissible standing near schools and child day care centers | Hearing Held. |
0824-2012 | Permissible parking in front of private driveways | Pending in the Transportation Committee | A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New york, in relation to permissible parking in front of private driveways | Hearing Held |
How many of the members of our driving community have received a parking ticket:
- While walking their children into the school from a car parked at the curb?
- For blocking a private driveway (when it’s your private driveway)?
- When a parking rule changes without any prior notice?
It’s time to right these wrongs.
Loosen the death grip on your remote control and take action
