The parking ticket “reduction” program is done
[Larry’s Note: This is wrong. Not correct. My bad. I misinterpreted a message on the Evil Empire’s website. I thought there was still a fine reduction offered when a member of the NYC driving public appeared at an in-person hearing. I wanted to keep this post alive to make sure I warned you of my mistakes. Sorry ’bout that].
I was wrong about the existence of a smaller scale fine reduction program applicable for in-person hearings. There are no NYC parking ticket fine settlement or reduction programs remaining. They are kaput.
Here’s how the DOF presented the announcement of the termination of the settlement program on the DOF website which I misinterpreted
Commentary
I offer my sincere thanks to Sammy, who was kind enough to post a comment on Larry’s Blog notifying me of his experience at an in-person hearing. He was informed by the DOF there was no fine reduction available anymore to the driving community.
I re-visited the DOF website a few times, and re-read the above notice in the context of the information conveyed to me by Sammy.
This is a great example of our driving community helping each other get it right. In this case, Sammy helped me get it right.
Thanks, Sammy!
[The Evil Empire threw me a curve ball and I swung and missed. But, after watching the videotape, I got it right!].
