Yogi has a way with words. I can’t imagine what this NY Yankee icon would say about the battle to stop the injustice perpetrated by a small cauldron of rogue parking ticket warriors issuing illegal pedestrian ramp parking tickets. Shame on you!

The law

It is no longer illegal to park in front of a pedestrian ramp located in the long block of a ‘T’ intersection when there are no marked crosswalks, no traffic signs, and no traffic control devices regulation the flow of traffic. As a matter of fact, it is no longer illegal to park in front of any pedestrian ramp in the middle of a block when there are no marked crosswalks, no traffic signs, and no traffic control devices regulating traffic.

However, look for another parking space when you come upon a pedestrian ramp with a marked crosswalk! People with disabilities need access to safe zones to cross the street.

One of our terrific citizen parking ticket fighters, Norman, alerted us to a great idea. He found fliers containing articulate information about the change in the pedestrian ramp law posted around town alerting members of the parking public to the Pedestrian Ramp Scam.

I prepared such a flier. I’m igniting the Paul Revere instinct in everyone to warn the unsuspecting NYC driving public of this Pedestrian Ramp Scam. Tell you, neighbors, hand out these fliers, take action to right a wrong. You know about the new law. You will save $165 in the illegal bounty. Pay it forward!
