My passenger pick-up truck weighs less than 6001 pounds
We have a great group of friends who help all of our passenger pick-up truck owners with their questions. That is to say, I don’t know what I would do without my team of experienced experts.
Meanwhile, I received some good news today from a client who got an unjust NYC parking ticket for improper registration. She did not cap her less than a 6001-pound passenger pick-up truck and got nailed by one of the uninformed parking ticket warriors.
Likewise, do you know why she didn’t cap her cargo space? Because she is not required to cap it, that’s why.
DMV regulations for passenger pick-up trucks
The DMV regs are clear on this issue. If your pick-up truck has an unburdened weight of fewer than 6001 pounds, you have the choice to register your vehicle as a passenger or a commercial vehicle. If you choose the passenger class, you are NOT required to cap it!
Here’s a FREE, helpful checklist for pick-up truck owners published by the NY DMV. No email address is required to download.
When you’re right-FIGHT!
Most importantly, She fought the evil parking ticket. We helped. And, today we got great news from Evil Empire. Her parking ticket was dismissed!
We wish to share how we presented our client’s defense. Remember, being right is not enough to beat your parking ticket. You must present the proper proof, properly to win.
Please help yourself with two of our downloads.
- One is our defense letter and screen capture that beat a parking ticket for improper registration of an uncapped passenger pick-up truck
- The second is the DMV regulations (no email sign up required for your free download)
What if your pick-up truck was registered as a commercial vehicle
Can you
Park it in an NYC residential neighborhood?
Commentary:
Most importantly, we have to help each other fight unjust parking tickets. The warriors know the rules. But, some choose to issue parking tickets, anyway. Never, ever allow this to happen without a fight.
Consequently, I’m thinking of compiling a list of the warriors who are misusing their authority. After that, I’ll send this list along with a persuasive epistle to one of the friendly NYC Councilpersons. This bad behavior has to stop.
One of our pick-up truck friends and experts suggests posting a sign in your window, or on your dashboard announcing to the warriors that your pick-up truck weighs less than 5500 pounds, and according to the DMV regulations, is not required to have a cap for a passenger pick-up truck. It’s worked for our guy. Try it, you’ll like it!
Please join our community of pick-up truck owners. We’d love to hear about your parking and parking ticket experiences in NYC.
