Redesigned NYC parking signs
The Evil Empire has replaced the old parking signs with redesigned NYC parking signs, and it’s only the beginning. The redesigned NYC parking signs will be installed in the outer boroughs. How are you doing with your understanding of the parking signs? Are the rules clear as the air in NYC? Or do you still have some questions?
Here’s a guide to help you navigate the mean streets of NYC with the redesigned parking signs.
Commentary
The mission of the NY DOT is to make the redesigned NYC parking signs understandable. However, the mission of the Evil Empire is to grab your hard-earned dough. Can both of these missions cohabitate in our fair city?
I like the new signs. They are easier to read and understand. One of the major improvements is the elimination of the evil “double except sign.” Check out the image below. What do you think of the new sign?
Muni-meters are now programmed not to take your money and issue a receipt when meters are not in effect. For example, if street cleaning days and hours are Tuesday, 9 am to 10:30 am, the muni-meter will not take your money on Tuesdays between 9 am to 10:30 am. Check out this blog post for a special tip about how to take advantage of a mistake on the sign.
