The Corona Virus versus blogging about parking tickets NYC
The Corona Virus. I was sitting at my desk to write Monday’s blog post. I kept staring at the empty computer screen, hoping a helpful topic would leap on the screen. However, I realized it was not the time to write about NYC parking tickets.
This may be a temporary victory for the Corona Virus. But it is the correct decision until we get this evil pandemic under control. And we will.
Kudos to State and Local Government Officials
I applaud the myriad state and local government officials who are stepping up to give us the fact-based, empathetic leadership we need to beat the virus. There are rules we got to follow that will increase our personal safety and the safety of others.
These safety measures may be inconvenient, but they will save lives.
Be smart and safe. I’ll be thinking about all of you.

While we quarantine in, are any suspensions for alternate side parking being put in place?
Hi, Jo,
Great questions.
Here’s a link to check the status of ASP Rules.
For example, they are in effect today. So, I would check on a daily basis.

On Saturday afternoon, around 1pm, I saw a cop towing a car from a commercial vehicle parking spot. It was one of the few cars parked on the entire block in the midtown ghost town (52nd between 8th and 9th). My wife and a reporter watched as the cop opened the door of the car, loaded it on to the tow apparatus, etc. The reporter gave him an earful, saying what we all thought – how can you tow a guy in a state of emergency? Perhaps the law never sleeps but it just seemed so wrong. We all felt it. The corona virus pandemic has made harsh punishments for small crimes seem dispicable and unconscionable.
Hi, Kyle,
Well said!
Regards,
Larry
Small infractions, I should say.
