You can view real-time parking conditions on NYC DOT map
I am 64 years young and continually amazed at the innovative, technological advancements that are born every day to make our lives easier. I recently reported about the initiation of a parking technology pilot program that provides real-time, up-to-date, information about the availability of metered parking spaces. The real-time data is generated by sensors embedded in the pavement.
For a deeper dive into how the parking technology pilot program works, you may wish to read, “NYC Announces Pilot Program that makes Parking a Breeze.”
The pilot program is operating in the neighborhood of Arthur Avenue and 187th Street, NYC. Here is a view of the parking scene (via Google Maps street view 2011 image).
