An NYC driveway is illegal without a curb-cut permit
How do you determine if a curb-cut permit was issued for an NYC driveway?
In other words, the driveway is illegal if the property owner or the construction person they hired didn’t secure a permit to install a curb cut. Meanwhile, all you have to do is follow these five steps to secure the evidence. It is easy peasy.
Easy peasy search for the proper proof
Click on this link for NYC Buildings Website_curb cuts
Click on the link for “DOB NOW: Build.” You’ll find the link under “Curb Cut Permits & Your Project.
Click on the “Address” button, which you will find under “Search the Public Portal.”
Enter the address of the property in the drop-down menu. Next, click the search button.
You’ll land on the DOB NOW: Property Profile Webpage. Next, scroll down to “Jobs/Occupancy/Compliance Filings.’
After that, click “BUILD: Job Filings,” and you’ll find a list of the permits.
Likewise, you win if there isn’t a curb-cut permit! And you have your proof.

Older curb-cut permits (prior to 2015) may only be visible in the Building Information System (BIS) at https://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/bispi00.jsp
Commentary
There are several ways to beat a parking ticket for parking in front of an NYC driveway., but always check first whether the driveway is legal. Likewise, it is the best way to win!
Good luck.

You are a prince of a person, Mr. S!
Thanks for keeping a helpful eye out for me.

Your method doesn’t really work with properties built before 2010 or so. For those properties you have to look up the property at BIS site – https://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/bispi00.jsp and look at the pdf of the C. of O. to see if a driveway or curb cut permit# is on it somewhere. If the property was built before 1938 no C. of O. was usually required so for those properties there’s really no way to tell if the driveway/curb cut is legal.
Hi Dan,
Good afternoon.
Thanks so much for filling in the gap!
Much appreciate it.
