How to save money on an NYC parking ticket
How hard is it to make a living in these tough economic times? I’ll bet it’s pretty darn hard. Let’s do the math together. You have 8 deliveries to make in NYC at 8 separate locations for 8 separate customers. You pay for gas, tolls, and a helper. Can you afford 3 NYC parking tickets for $115 each on this route? Of course not.
Have you ever been zapped with a parking ticket while temporarily double parking? Where is it safe to stop, stand or park?
Here are 3 tips to help you navigate the mean parking ticket streets of NYC:
- If you are looking for a safe place to stop or stand your vehicle, you may temporarily stop or stand in a No Parking – Taxi Stand, provided you do not interfere with any taxi about to enter or leave such zone
- You may NOT stop, stand or park your commercial vehicle alongside a fire hydrant, even if there is someone behind the wheel to move if requested to do so.
- You may “angle-park” your vehicle if such positioning is essential for loading or unloading, and;
- only for such time actually required for such purposes, provided;
- there is sufficient space left clear for the passage of a vehicle between the angle-parked vehicle and the center of the street, the opposite curb or a vehicle parked or standing, whichever is closer
- In no event shall an angle-parked vehicle occupy more than a parking lane, plus one traffic lane
- only for such time actually required for such purposes, provided;
(It may not be worth angle parking after reading this rule)
