NYC Parking Rules for holidays and Sundays can be confusing.
Trying to remember whether a holiday is a Major Legal Holiday or just a plain old Legal Holiday can be a pain in the neck (or wallet). Add a pinch of Sunday Parking Rules, and throw Alternate Side Parking Rules into the mix; and voila, you have a NYC parking rules recipe for disaster. It brings to mind the old Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid quote, “Rules in a knife fight?… No rules.” But, there are plenty of rules regulating parking on the mean streets of NYC.

Hi, Soledad,
I hear you.
All these parking rules and holidays are very confusing.

Larry
You cost me a ticket on 2/20/23 Washington’s Birthday. It is not a NYC parking holiday.
Hi Harry,
Sorry for the confusion.
But Washington’s Birthday is a legal parking holiday in NYC.
The only benefit bestowed to drivers on NYC legal parking holidays is suspending alternate-side parking rules

Larry
