Take an Interactive Parking Ticket Driving Tour of NYC

Can you navigate the mean streets of NYC without getting a parking ticket?

I’d like you to meet Slick Sam, a fast-talking, risk-taking, master of the universe. Sam is going to take a wild ride through NYC, and show you have costly life in the wrong parking space can be. First, Sam chooses his chariot (which one would you choose?).

Next, Slick Sam embarks on his parking ticket tour

First Stop: Sam is picking up his 6′ 2″ supermodel girlfriend, Dasvidaniya, who is taking public transportation from her home in Queens into Manhattan. Sam wants to get to the bus stop before his girlfriend, so he arrives about 5 minutes early, and stops in the bus stop zone with his motor running. Will Joe get a parking ticket for a bus stop violation?

Second Stop: Slick Sam picks up his girlfriend in the bus stop zone, and heads to the Elite Modeling Agency on 5th Avenue where Sam is going to drop off his supermodel girlfriend for a photoshoot. Sam spots an empty parking space directly, smack dab in front of a bright red fire hydrant. He parks get comfortable in the driver’s seat, and Dasvidaniya hops out of the car. It is now 1:30 pm. Is this Sam’s lucky day? Or will Sam be issued a parking ticket for parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant?

Third Stop: Four hours later, Dasvidaniya opens the door to Sam’s car and takes a seat. The super couple is heading to Lelabar on Hudson Street for happy hour cocktails. When they arrive the only vacant parking space is located in the middle of the block. But, it’s a pedestrian ramp with no marked crosswalk, and no traffic control devices regulating traffic. Slick Sam grabs the space and parks his chariot.

Little did Sam know that there was a parking ticket warrior on other ends of the block issuing parking tickets and headed Sam’s way. Will Sam be issued a pedestrian ramp parking ticket?

Fourth Stop: Sam and Dasvidaniya leave Lelabar and head to Tribeca Grill for dinner.  Sam spots an empty, ACTIVE, bus lane and figures the life is good and immediately enters the bus lane. He travels for about three blocks and then makes a right-hand turn.  They arrive at the Greenwich Street eatery at 7:30 for their 7:30 reservation. Will Sam get a bus lane violation ticket in the mail?

Fifth Stop: After a wonderful see and be seen dinner at Tribeca Grill, Sam And Dasvidaniya decide to call it a day. Sam heads back to the bus stop to drop off his girlfriend. However, this time Sam is going to learn from his earlier mistake and avoid another NYC parking ticket. So Sam parks his car outside the bus stop zone and in a no standing anytime zone to spend 10 more minutes with Dasvidaniya before her bus arrives.

Will Sam get a no standing parking ticket?
