Veterans Day is a parking holiday in NYC
Veterans Day falls on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
However, 2022, Veterans Day falls on Friday, November 11, 2022.
Likewise, 2023 Veterans Day falls on Saturday, November 11, 2023. But, is observed on Friday, November 10th
The Evil Empire suspends street cleaning rules on Veterans Day. But we still have to feed the meters and obey the parking signs.
Can you name the 6-major legal parking holidays?
Of course, you can:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
What benefits are bestowed on major legal parking holidays?
Straight from the Evil Empire:
“On major legal holidays, stopping, standing, and parking is permitted except in areas where stopping, standing, and parking rules are in effect seven days a week (e.g., “No Standing Anytime”). Parking meter regulations are also suspended on major legal holidays.”
What about
- New Year’s Eve
- Christmas Eve
Nope. These days are not parking holidays in NYC. Don’t be fooled!
