New Parking Meter Laws Quiz
The NYC Council passed meaningful new parking meter laws on December 24, 2021. These new laws will have a significant impact on parking in NYC. Therefore, sensible drivers will want to have a working knowledge of the new regulations. Otherwise, the Evil Empire will barrage, bombard and broadside your chariot with costly NYC parking tickets.
Learning takes relentless repetition. So, in the same vein, I’ve prepared a short, 5-question quiz to ignite the learning process. So, grab your #2 pencils and begin!
5 Question Quiz
Commentary
The new parking meter laws cover a lot of curbside regulations. For example, The Evil Empire added “Blockface” to the NYC parking dictionary and finally clarified how many parking meters we must check before parking safely at a broken meter.
Likewise, the 5 minute grace period is alive and well and still protecting drivers from warriors with hyperactive trigger fingers. However, we can no longer transfer paid time to park at meters outside the blockface.
Interesting stuff (not proud of my score though!) Question: If a meter won’t take (valid) credit cards, does that count as broken?
Hi Robert,
Good afternoon.
I don’t know the “official” answer. But, to me a parking meter that will not accept a valid payment is broken.
Regards,
Larry
